About The Site
The Policy Report was started on September 8, 2008 by Adam Haverstock when he and Igor Kagan– a good friend and political progressive were debating California Politics. The two discussed the need for an outlet to express their opinions of California Politics in a state where very few people understand the makeup of the government, let alone debate how to make it effective. The Policy Report was developed that same day as an online journal and evolved into a source of information for the public on California’s complex public policy issues.
Adam lives in Ventura County– just north of Los Angeles. The website content usually pertains to the political happenings of Ventura County, neighboring Los Angeles County and the State Capitol in Sacramento.
Mission Statement
The purpose of The Policy Report is to inject common sense debate and analysis on public policy issues into a world of spin and extreme partisanship. The writing is never intended to be negative, but can often be critical. Its political ideology is generally right of center.
