Education Advisers For Obama and McCain To Debate Tuesday

The Issue: The education advisers for both of the presidential candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain will debate each other regarding education issues on Tuesday, October 21 at 4pm Pacific Standard Time.  The debate will take place at Columbia University in New York City and will be webcast by Education Week.

Barack Obama’s education adviser, Linda Darling-Hammond and John McCain’s education adviser, Lisa Graham, will debate federal education policy at Columbia University Tuesday night.

Here are some bios on the people advising the candidates on education policy:

Linda Darling-Hammond

Dr. Darling Hammond has an Edd in Urban Education from Temple University.  She is a professor at Stanford University and holds 7 honorary degrees from universities around the United States.

Lisa Graham

Lisa Graham received her Masters Degree in Communcation Disorders from Arizona State University.  According the National Review, she “created the most effective charter school program in the country.”  The Adam Smith Award for Economics Education was presented to her in 2000.
