The Issue: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger released his positions on the 12 California Propositions that are going to be voted on during the November 4th Election. He breaks from the Republican Party on several positions.

The Sacramento Bee announced his endorsements today.

Observations:

1. Arnold is neutral on Propositions 6 and 9, the two so-called crime propositions.  The California Republican Party has supported both.
2. Arnold is opposed to Prop 8, the Same-Sex Marriage Ban, again breaking from his party.
3. Arnold supports a few of the bond measures, including Prop 1A, the High Speed Rail Proposition and Prop 3, the Children’s Hospital Bond.  Probably in an effort to stimulate the sagging California economy.

Prop 6 – Law Enforcement Funding, Gang Penalties: Neutral
Prop 7 – Renewable Energy Standards: No
Prop 8 – Same-Sex Marriage Ban: No
Prop 9 – Victims’ Rights & Parole: Neutral
Prop 10 – Alternative Fuel Bonds: No
Prop 11 – Redistricting: Yes
Prop 12 – Veterans Bond Act: Yes
