New Prop 11 Commercial Features Firefighter

The Issue: California Proposition 11, an initiative that will take the ability to design the districts for state elected officials away from politicians is on the ballot for November 4. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as many elected officials and candidates have come out in support of Prop 11. Today a new commercial supporting Prop 11 features a firefighter discussing the trouble getting the support needed to fight our natural disasters from our legislature. It’s worth a look, see below.

Analysis: It should be no surprise to anyone that I support Prop 11.
After all, it’s the right thing to do because our current system is a huge conflict of interest. The opponents of Prop 11, most notable being Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata, have only been able to raise $1,967,270 to date, compared to $8,390,630 for the supporters. I know Proposition 11 is a confusing initiative, but it is the most important decision that voters will make this election. All other reforms of our government require that we pass Prop 11 first. It is the foundation for reform for our state.
